Quarantine
How are we so divided in this country so strong?
How do we believe other people so wrong?
Can we open our eyes to others’ intelligence?
Can we weaken our political defenses?
Each day that passes, the masses divided.
The kaleidoscope colors massively collided.
Hypocrisy and hate ruling social media
That caused panic, fear, and unnecessary hysteria.
Those that say it’s a media hoax.
Those that post inappropriate jokes.
The ones demanding to be set free
From the government’s decree.
These people hurt the hero’s heart
The ones looking at the hospital chart
Those working long shifts to help the sick.
Those that light the candle’s wick.
Yet our world is crashing down
In every city and every town
People crying for the end to near
People’s cries you’ll never hear.
Some still going to work
Some stay-at-home, going berserk.
Some have a family by their side
Some are alone where they reside.
They all feel helpless in their own way
Trying to make it another day.
Why can’t we find a happy middle?
So each side doesn’t seem so little.
We all miss our friends and our routine
And the normal life before the quarantine.
